An Auspicious Day: Celebrating Community Connections

I awoke on Day 6 feeling tired and achy, though powered through breakfast before the half day of work ahead. We made steady progress on site before most of the group headed to a nearby village wedding over the lunch hour.

I was fascinated to witness the marriage rituals and feast with our gracious hosts. Despite not feeling my best, interacting with local community members energized my spirits. After, some returned to camp for naps while others continued on community visits.

My body pleaded for rest, so I slept deeply back in my tent. That evening we broke into teams again for community dinners in three separate households. My team headed to Parvati’s home where she whipped up the most mouthwatering vegetarian dishes with garden-fresh ingredients.

Witnessing the incredibly heartfelt bond between our hosts and the Conscious Impact staff reminded me this earthbag dome course is about more than just building structures from dirt. It forges human connections through shared sustainable living values and profound cultural exchange.

My fatigue melted away as my heart swelled with inspiration from this community that has fully embraced Conscious Impact as one of their own. I’m honored to pass along these lessons in harmony with nature and each other.

Though a shorter workday, experiencing the generosity of our Nepali neighbors made this one of my most memorable and transformative days yet!
